Rites of Passage was originally launched in September 2006 as ‘Rites of Passage: The Teenage Taxi Company Ltd’ by Sue Morrison, a teacher. Having teenagers of her own, she realised many parents frequently encountered the same problems as herself – ferrying youngsters back and forth to various places, often at inconvenient times.
Every parent worries about the safety of their children when they venture into the big, wide world on their own. It’s only natural. When teenagers explore their independence, independent travel is one of the first problems they encounter. The free-thinking teenager may not be quite as anxious as their parents about travelling alone to parties or to visit their friends, but in the society we live in, safety is a big concern for parents, and if they are also going out for the evening, it becomes a problem for everyone.
Rites of Passage provides an Executive Service for everyone. Parents feel secure in the knowledge that a registered vehicle and driver will turn up at the appointed time, to collect their youngsters. As the Executive Vehicles can seat up to 6 passengers, friends can travel together and so the fare is shared.
